Steps You Need To Follow To Make A DIY Accordion Paper Basket
Step 1-
Let’s start with the color paper/sheet. Take a ruler and mark 9.5cm markings on the sheet. Make 3 such 9.5 cm markings and draw the lines using ruler and pencil. Cut all the three portions using scissors. Now, take one portion, fold it from the center. Open it and again make 2 folds form the paper. Open it again and make 3 portions. Similarly, make multiple folds form this paper. Now this paper is ready for an accordion style fold. Thus, fold the paper back and forth in thin strips just like an accordion.
Step 2-
Once the fold is ready, open it up and you will get a perfect accordion style shape. Prepare such 4 accordion style formations. Now take a broad cardboard strip and apply some glue over it. Stick it on the pink color paper. Apply glue on the other side of the cardboard and stick the remaining paper on the other side. This way, both sides will be covered with the pink color sheet.

Step 3-
Now place the cardboard on the color sheet and trace the shape of the cardboard using the pencil. With a ruler, mark the measurements with a ruler. Again make 9.5 cm markings with a little gap between all the portions. Now, we have a middle portion of the cardboard size and the 2 sides with the broadness of 9.5cm. Now, using a cutter, make slight bends on the sides and fold them. We will stick the cardboard strip on this paper sheet. Thus, apply glue on the bottom of cardboard sheet and stick it in the center portion of the sheet.
Step 4-
The strong base of the accordion bag is prepared. Now we will make the sides of this basket. For this, stick the accordions we made previously on the paper sheets. Apply some glue on the sides of the let paper and stick the accordion shape. Similarly, stick the accordion shapes to the other sides. With this, all the sides of the paper basket are ready.
Step 5-
To provide support to the paper sides, we will make a base. For this, take a cardboard sheet and cut 2 boat shape formations from the sheet. Stick color paper on these shapes and stick this boat-shaped cardboard on both the sides of the accordion. This way, the basket will get a strong support from the base.
Step 6-
Now, we will make a strip or handle from the color paper. Take a long and slightly broad cardboard sheet and cover it with the pink color paper using glue. Once the strip is ready, stick it on the sides of the paper basket. Use adhesive or glue to stick the strip to the basket properly.
Step 7-
Once the handle is ready, it’s now time to decorate the basket. Take some decorative flowers and stick the bunch of such artificial flowers on the handle. Also, stick some pearls and beads on the handle using glue in a random fashion. When the handle is ready, you can decorate the basket. Stick the pearls on the accordion and on the sides using glue. Cover the interior as well exterior of the basket.
