Watch Making Birds Nest Home Decoration Craft Using Balloons and Newspapers

Things you would need to make this Home Decor
- Thermocol
- Tissue papers
- Newspapers
- Balloons
- Glue and water
- Artificial flowers and plants
- Paintbrush
- Divider and pencil
- Cutter
- Painting colors
Procedure
To make the nest, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Take a balloon fully blown along with some old newspapers.
Step 2: Cut down the newspapers into medium size square pieces as many as possible.
Step 3: Take some water and glue in proper proportions and mix well. Using a paintbrush, apply the glue on the balloon covering the lower part of the balloon.
Step 4: As you apply the glue, fix single piece square cut newspapers on the glue. Doing so, cover the lower part of the balloon giving it a bowl like look and allow it to dry.
Step 5: When the balloon is well covered, take some tissue papers and tear them to unusual shapes. Using glue, apply the tissue papers on the newspapers forming 5 layers of tissue papers. When all the layers are well fixed using glue, allow the papers to dry properly.
Step 6: Using a pin, remove all the air from the ball and you are ready with the nest. Make 2 such nests.
Step 7: Using a pencil, draw out uneven lines on the nests to give it a curvy and sharp end. Using a cutter gently cut down the edges properly giving the nests a proper look.
Step 8: Now take a Thermocol or Styrofoam sheet and make a circle with a radius of 4 inches using a pencil and divider. This will be the base of the craft.
Step 9: Using a cutter, cut down the sheet in circular shape and make proper edges with the cutter too.
Step 10: Again, take some tissue paper and cut them off in an unusual way.
Step 11: Take the glue mixed with water and stick the tissue papers on the circular thermocol/ Styrofoam.
Step 12: While sticking the tissue paper, make sure you don’t hide the cut off edges you had made earlier. Dig the tissue paper inside the edges for a natural look. When covered completely with the tissue papers, allow it to dry well.
Step 13: Time to paint! Take the acrylic colors and paint both the nests first using white color with a thick texture.
Step 14: Now take the circular thermocol / Styrofoam and paint the sides and the top using green and blue color.
Step 15: Add white color in between to give the thermocol a proper branch like appearance.
Step 16: Using a glue gun, fix both the nests on the thermocol in the center.
Step 17: Now take some artificial flowers and plants with different colors and stick them from all sides.
Step 18: Take some dried straws to fill it in the nests properly.
Step 19: Take some artificial eggs and birds and place them in the nest. Set a bird or two outside the nest on the thermocol.
